🇬🇧 The Matter of Eternity

There is a passage that we seldom ponder: the first chapter of Ephesians.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.

(Eph 1:3–4)

This means: not only Jesus existed before time – we did too.
God saw us before the world began.
He saw all generations at once, for in Him there is no passing time.
If God is eternal, then millions of years and thousands of years are one single Now.

Therefore, when we say that Jesus was “in the beginning,”
that beginning is not a moment long ago,
but the dwelling place of God Himself.

We live in time; God lives in eternity.
And in His eternity we are already complete –
children of light, to the praise of His glorious grace.

That is the mystery of eternity:
We are not moving toward it – we come from it.
