Es ist überraschend, liebe Freunde, wenn uns in den letzten Tagen die Offenbarung mitteilt, dass Babylon gefallen ist. Überraschend, weil die meisten Prediger diese Bibelstelle im Bezug auf die Kirchlandschaft sehen.

Offenbarung 18,1–3
Danach sah ich einen andern Engel herniederfahren vom Himmel, der hatte große Macht, und die Erde wurde erleuchtet von seinem Glanz.
Und er rief mit mächtiger Stimme: Sie ist gefallen, sie ist gefallen, Babylon, die Große, und ist eine Behausung der Dämonen geworden und ein Gefängnis aller unreinen Geister und ein Gefängnis aller unreinen Vögel und ein Gefängnis aller unreinen und verhassten Tiere.
Denn von dem Zorneswein ihrer Hurerei haben alle Völker getrunken, und die Könige auf Erden haben mit ihr Hurerei getrieben, und die Kaufleute auf Erden sind reich geworden von ihrer großen Üppigkeit.

Und es ist wieder einmal ein Engel, der es allen mitteilt: dass Babylon gefallen ist.
Vollkommen unklar bleibt, warum hier Menschen auf die Idee kommen, dass es sich hierbei um die Kirche handeln könnte.
Ich persönlich halte es für ein Sinnbild der Welt.

Ich vermute, dass es sich um eine mystische Beschreibung von Macht und Geld handelt. Babylon ist das Symbol für ein System, das Nationen verführt und sich gegen Gott erhebt. Und genau dieses System wird von Gott selbst gestürzt.

Sermon: The Whore of Babylon!

It is surprising, dear friends, when in these last days the Book of Revelation tells us that Babylon has fallen. Surprising, because most preachers interpret this passage in relation to the church landscape.

Revelation 18:1–3
After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory.
And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.
For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

And once again it is an angel who proclaims to everyone: Babylon has fallen.
It is completely unclear why some people think this must refer to the church.
Personally, I believe it is a symbol of the world itself.

I suspect it is a mystical description of power and wealth. Babylon stands for the system that seduces nations and sets itself against God. And it is this very system that God Himself will bring down.

Проповед: Блудницата Вавилон!

Изненадващо е, скъпи приятели, когато в тези последни дни книгата Откровение ни съобщава, че Вавилон е паднал. Изненадващо, защото повечето проповедници тълкуват този текст във връзка с църковния пейзаж.

Откровение 18:1–3
След това видях друг ангел да слиза от небето; той имаше голяма власт, и земята се освети от неговата слава.
Той извика със силен глас: „Падна, падна великият Вавилон! Той стана обиталище на демони, свърталище на всеки нечист дух, свърталище на всяка нечиста птица и на всяко нечисто и омразно животно.
Защото всички народи пиха от виното на яростта на неговото блудство; земните царе блудстваха с него и земните търговци се обогатиха от неговия разкош.“

И отново е ангел, който съобщава на всички: Вавилон падна.
Напълно неясно остава защо някои хора смятат, че това трябва да означава църквата.
Лично аз вярвам, че това е символ на света.

Подозирам, че това е мистично описание на власт и богатство. Вавилон е образ на система, която съблазнява народите и се изправя срещу Бога. И именно тази система ще бъде разрушена от самия Бог.
